User Profile

I'm a grad student who is currently doing media studies. My interest is in race, post-colonialism, and the Internet. I'm really intrigued by what it means to be Asian-American and how we explore and express that through the consumption of both American and Asian cultural media. I also do research on educational games, and my job is actually to design them. I've done work in the past on gaming and health, and that may be a topic I revisit in the future. My friends and I have just banded together into all-woman video game production group called Atargatis, and we aim to make home-brew games featuring alternative gender and sexuality, with a particular focus on marginalized people of color.

I like to knit. I read manga, watch dramas, and write fanfic on occasion. I'm terrible at writing these profiles. In any case, I promise you that I am, in fact, a real person. Just not the most interesting one, I guess. It's pretty simple to find out who I really am, as I do not friendslock this journal.
